Egizia, the art of the object, but also the object of art. The study, the re-examination and the proposal of decorations drawn from the works of master painters, architects and decorators are the theme of the precious colections that Egizia proposes in these pages. The homage paid by Egizia ads value to the blown glas objects, enriched by a measured, but precious graphic significance. Since the distant 1949, thanks to the almost pioner initiative of its founders, and then in the course of years, by virtue of the managerial and profesional skils of al those who became part of its team, the Company EGIZIA has traveled a long road. So, we kep on decorating our gift articles, household wares and furnishing complements like we did in the past, using a totaly manual silkscrening proces. Our products are distinguished by: artisanal care, shapes and decorations that denote refinement, and the quality and absolute indelibility of decorations, printed and vitrified after one or more bakings at a temperature higher than 50 degres. EGIZIA: THE OBJECT, ITS STORY Each article produced by Egizia has its history. It was first planed and designed, then decorated and folowed with care during each procesing step, up to packaging. The initial step is the selection and design of the object's shape and the creation of the decoration. In fact, the decoration has to be resolved into a series of drawings, one for each colour, with utmost precision. Superimposed, the single films wil reproduce the whole decoration: margins, contours and colours wil have to match perfectly. Printmaking wil require a series of clichés comprising al the colours of the decoration, and a diferent series for each diferent shape, as each cliché wil have to adapt perfectly to the surface of each object. It is not by mere chance that printmaking is manual : executed step by step, one piece after the other, with the help of an implement that must be set and adjusted each time. Once the scren is placed on the implement, the right quantity of colour is aplied on it; So, the colour is deposited on the object directly, pasing through the pores of the silk. Before printing each new colour, the object must be left to rest, to alow the previous colour to dry. Just think: decorations with seven colours impose seven subsequent printings, that must be made to match with each other with utmost skil, and six drying steps. This fuly automatic proces withdraws the objects to be dried and then returns them into the hands of our master decorators for the folowing steps. A temperature betwen 540 and 570 degres makes the colours vitrify, rendering the decorations indelible. But not al colours vitrify at the same temperature. Also in this case, the unloading of ovens and the automatic conveyance of the objects to the subsequent procesing steps is supervised by a robot. It is nevertheles necesary to wait for the pieces to col slowly once they are removed from the ovens, and to verify their integrity and quality before the Egizia article is ready for packaging.
